I began playing guitar in 1988 when I could no longer resist
the feeling I had listening to some of my favorite players. Guys like
Angus Young, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Tony Iommi and David Gilmour
really had my attention. Once I finally learned how to tune it (I didn't
know electronic tuners were available) I couldn't put it down.
In 1993 I formed Madame Session to perform and record original
compositions and then Solstice in 1996. Shortly after that I joined
the John Mullins Band to focus on my lead guitar skills and to play
outside of Columbus for a change. He was playing all over Ohio as well
as Chicago and New York and he had some great players backing him up.
We did a live recording and one studio track which was released on his
CD "Famous Last Words..." After nearly two years with the
Mullins Band I became more interested in jazz and blues so I joined
up with some friends in a project called Moodswing in 2000. We played
everything from Thelonius Monk to Jimi Hendrix as well as songs we had
written. There are some recordings of Moodswing but nothing was ever
officially released. During this time I did five recordings for Kendall
Wayne who is a fantastic country/southern rock songwriter from Southern
Ohio. I also recorded an album with Jason Clayton in 2002, another great
songwriter from Columbus. In 2003 I began feeling the urge to record
some of my own music so I bought some mics and a Pro Tools rig. Since
then I have been recording tracks for my songs as well as tracks for
other artists in the Columbus area and across the U.S. via the internet.
